Bromley wins London Youth Games 2017

After nine months of intense competition, the London Youth Games came to a close this weekend with the 33 boroughs battling it out for the coveted title. I am delighted to announce that Team Bromley retained the Jubilee Trophy and were once again crowned champions for 2017!

Looking to build on a successful year to date (including medals from tennis, cross country, judo and a range of other sports), Team Bromley entered the finals weekend on Saturday in 7th position overall. We managed to claim gold in girls swimming and a bronze in the boys, as well as picking up valuable points across a number of other sports. Our winning streak continued as we went into ‘Super Sunday’ with Bromley teams winning gold in girls & boys athletics and girls hockey, along with top 3 finishes in 7 other sports.

For the second year running it all came down to the boys squash final, where we secured 1st place for the third year in a row and claimed the overall title from Wandsworth by just four points. We were obviously thrilled with this result and to be champions once again!

Please find below a link to our overall scores, where you can also see for yourself Bromley sitting proudly at the top of the leader board:

A huge thank you to all our team managers who have given up their time this year – it is hugely appreciated!
